MISSION OF THE CENTRE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNIQUES AND TECHNOLOGY

The mission of the business and educational centre CETT is to create high-quality facilities for providing services in environmental consulting, and public awareness-raising and education, especially regarding biological waste disposal, environmental protection (with a focus on soil), systems of ecological agriculture, and offering consultation on issues of environmental training, awareness-raising, and education for municipalities, entrepreneurs, farmers, schools, families and the wider public.

The company ZERA – the standard bearer for this mission and at the same time the owner and operator of CETT – makes a considerable effort to set out the current situation in the Czech Republic before the general public and experts, including schools, and to recommend possible solutions through the medium of lectures and professional cooperation in solving problems. For these purposes, the organization has many experts and top-quality laboratory equipment at its disposal. Besides activities connected with ecological agriculture, protecting nature and natural resources, waste management and saving energy, there are also many seminars focused on developing effective enterprises, retraining, lifelong learning, leading a healthy life-style, as well as awareness-raising and the restoring time-tested, but slowly vanishing old crafts, and even computer literacy and language courses.

THE IMPORTANCE OF ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION

The importance of an “environmental upbringing”, raising and developing awareness on this issue in children and adults, lies in developing and deepening specific competences of both children and adults that will contribute to responsible behaviour, or more precisely to their being able to assess the consequences of their behaviour on the environment, and subsequently adapt their decisions. However, this is only possible if children and adults have the necessary environmental knowledge, skills and attitudes, which need to be constantly anchored and developed.

ARGUMENTS FOR THE IMPORTANCE OF ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
  • Adoption and anchoring of knowledge, skills and attitudes in the context of a responsible approach to the environment
  • Preserving nature, natural resources, and planet Earth for the future
  • Preserving quality of life
